[August 1, 2009] Our Time Attack car attended this weekend's NASA event at Auto Club Speedway. This was also a Super Lap Battle Qualifier. While we were happy with the cars initial performance, we were yet again struck with engine problems. We blew a head gasket towards the end of the first day. We were unable to get any clean laps so our best time remains unknown. Our best time was 1:52 but I don't believe that is indicative of the cars potential. Here is a shot from this weekend.

[June 11, 2009] You Tube Video of Willow Springs Here is a youtube video posted by Brian Lock of my spectacular off in Turn 9 at Willow Springs. It starts at about the 7:30 mark. Enjoy [May 31, 2009] Redline Time Attack Willow Springs This weekend NNI Racing participated in its first Redline Time Attack race and everything went great. We accomplished all of our goals for the weekend and came away very satisfied. M-AWD The race car performed very well in Modified All Wheel Drive finishing second with a time of 1:30:089. That was almost 2 seconds faster than last weekends SLB time. We couldn't have been more excited and pleased with this performance. S-AWD Street Class didn't go as well with an 8th place finish. We made some changes to the car that didn't work too well and we ended up with a 1:34:103. This was WAY slower than we went in Saturdays practice and not very representative of the cars potential. Our practice times would have placed us solidly in second place. We will learn from our mistake and make a better show of it next time. Brett Kozma piloted our practice car to a 1:40:160 for 12th place. That was very impressive considering he had never been on the track before and the car was suffering some mechanical problems that kept his top speeds down on the straight aways. All in all it was a great weekend and we will still be looking to improve dramatically over the summer by adding power and reducing weight. I would like to say thanks to everyone that made this possible..too many to list here but there is a pretty good list on the left there.

[May 24, 2009] Super Lap Battle Qualifier Willow Springs This weekend we attended our first event at Willow Springs Raceway for Super Lap Battle. The car performed fantastic and we actually managed a second place in Limited Class. This was the first time our car has seen a track in full race prep. We took our time and hit the track with a very conservative tuning. The car Dyno'd at 411whp with only 16lbs of boost. Needless to say we have a ton of room for more horsepower. The ulimate goal for this event was simply to get the car down the track with as few problems as possible. We passed with flying colors. On Sunday, in the second session, we turned a 1:31:827. That was good enough for second place to JC Meynet (1:27:119) and 7th overall. We were thrilled with this result because the car is a Street Class car just running Toyo R888's which is a Limited Class tire. It was also very encouraging that Dusty Nabor was able to turn that time being his first time at Big Willow. DSPORT was also out to film the car and get some in car camera shots. We are heading to the studio on Thursday to have the car shot for the cover of DSPORT Magazine.
[May 21, 2009] Things are coming together with the Time Attack Car Here are the latest pic of the RTA Car. It has been tuned and is ready to roll for NASA and Super Lap Battle this weekend. Stay tuned for updates from that event!
[May 2, 2009] Cody Majors Wins Junior Midget Main Event!!!!!!! In only his 4th start as a Junior Midget, Cody Majors led the main event from start to finish. Congratulations to Cody!
Bob Alderman Finishes 7th Senior Sprint driver Bob Alderman finished the night in a tough 7th place spot. Tonight's race was a very tough go and we had to battle for every position. We'll take 7th but are looking for podiums from here on out! [April 27, 2009] NASA Buttonwillow Pratice Car This weekend Dusty Nabor attended the NASA HPDE event in our new practice car. Although we did have some issues, Dusty did manage one uninhibited hot lap and turned a 2:05:020. This was very encouraging because the car was not in top shape and Dusty was not psuhing as to stay in the good graces of the extremely strict NASA watch dogs. Here are a couple photos of the event:
[March 28, 2009] First Event for the Time Attack Subaru Our first outing was this weekend at the first Redline Time Attack race at Buttonwillow Raceway. Things did not go well at all. The weekend started off with an all night session on the XS Engineering Dyno with Cosworth Motor Guru Eric Hsu. At about 4am, Eric had the car running very well with a relatively conservative program. We headed straight to Buttonwilow right after the dyno. We arrived at about 8am only to find out that we had forgoten the wheel spacers. So, we sat around until about 1pm for Gary from Design Craft to arrive with the spacers we forgot back at the shop. Only after about 4 laps our car suffered a weekend ending mechanical. With the car being so new, we are very low on spare parts right now and had to pack it up. Car looked absolutely fantastic and performed well in the limited time we had. We will be back and we will get the car going soon. Hopefully a little more prepared at the next race at the end of May. I wish I had more pics from the event but we thought we would have more time to take them!
[March 21, 2009] Bob Alderman takes 5th in season opener! Our Senior Sprint Car had its first race of the season and we are extremely happy with our results. We scored a direct transfer 3rd place finish in the heat race. Started on the 4th row in the main and battled upwards to a solid 5th place finish in a shortened race. Bob and Lee were both very pleased with the result and are still optimistic that a win is soon on the horizon. Next race is April 11th. [March 18, 2009] Trailers have just been completed and are ready to roll....
[February 19, 2009] Just a quick announcement that Turbonetics has come on board to handle all our turbo Components. We will be helping Turbonetics to development their Subaru applications and kits. [February 8, 2009] Stage 1 of the plan is complete and we took the car out to Streets of Willow for a Speed Trial USA track day for some testing. We are very pleased with the current status of the car. Modifications include: TEIN Super Race Coilovers Peformance Friction Rotors Hawk Pads Toyo R1R Tires Accessport reprogram ( This was just for a little more hp's...motor is still essentially stock and will be built in stage 2 ) Roll cage Sparco Steering Wheel Greddy Exhaust ( This will not be out race exhaust...race exhaust will be custom fabricated ) Prodrive Wing Some Photos of the day:
[January 10, 2009] We ran our car for the first time at Streets of Willow at a Speed Ventures event. We are very happy with the results. The car has now been sent back to Design Craft Fab to be completed. Check out the Time Attack Subaru link for the build progress.
